Sønderborg Mill – Mølle på Møllebakken

(also known as Slotsmøllen or Mølle ved Sønderborg Slot)

Location: Directly in Sønderborg on the island of Als, near Sønderborg Slot (Castle), above the harbor on the so-called Møllebakken ("Mill Hill").

Type: Dutch windmill with a gallery and rotating cap

Built: In 1867

Function: Originally used for grinding grain, now a listed building

Special feature: It was once part of a farm and has now been restored – recognizable by its whitewashing, surrounding gallery, and typical Danish cross-shaped wing.
