At this point on the Pinhoti Trail, hikers have the option to take the Pinhoti Connector Trail, a spur trail into Mountain State Park. This spur trail is 1.6 miles one way and leads to waterfalls, Fort Mountain Lake, overlooks, and historic ruins.
