The Kindelsberg (the landmark of the Krombacher brewery) is one of the highlights north of Kreuztal. The ascent is exhausting, but above you can then recover from the hardships.

My wife and I were on Friday, 27.01.2017, on this beautiful, snowy path. Despite the considerable amounts of snow, we made good progress. However, we had significant advantages with spikes on the shoes, because the trampling tracks and also the paths were partially iced up. We have omitted variants no.1 and no.2 due to the weather. For this we stopped in the rest area at Kindelsberg with a delicious lentil stew a bit longer and had enough time for a tower climb.

A classic as a destination. Nice, simple restaurant and café.

If you want to hike or riding bike near Kreutztal I recommend to have stop and cup of cafe in the restaurant below the tower. Of course you can watch whole area from tower.

The 618m high Kindelsberg has always been a defining home symbol for the population and since the 19th century a place where many singer and gymnastics festivals took place. The remains of a rampart probably date from the High Middle Ages. Built by the Sauerland Mountain Association, it was inaugurated in 1907 and has been the symbol of Kreuztal ever since. "Tower" and Kindelsberg rest area are popular destinations for excursions - from the viewing platform there are impressive distant views in good weather. Source: Flyer Kindelsbergpfad

“The Grenz- or KaiserlindeTo glorify the »emperor's name«, patriots planted the Kaiserlinde in 1878, after an attempt to assassinate Kaiser Wilhelm I had failed, exactly on the border between Littfeld and Ernsdorf, on the highest point of the Kindelsberg. "See kindelsberg.de/historie

The view from the tower is next to the restaurant with delicious dishes (waffles in the afternoon) very rewarding.
Not to forget: almost everyone knows the tower, because it adorns every Krombacher bottle!

The Kindelsberg and its tower are always worth a trip.
You can integrate it particularly nicely into the 14 km long hiking highlight "Kindelsbergpfad".

The Kindelsbergpfad is very varied, and every now and then offers beautiful views and insights into the diverse mining history.

3 highlights were created here. Could have been combined into one.
So the restaurant, tower and the Kaiserlinde are worthwhile.
