The Mecan Segment of the Ice Age Trail stretches 7.5 miles and is the halfway point of the long 1200-mile route. This segment runs through wetlands, grasslands, and forests, with beautiful riverside views that pass by glacial springs and is an excellent stretch for birdwatching along the crystal-clear Mecan River. Despite occasional road walks and private land crossings, it’s a peaceful and visually stunning section of the trail.
