The highest mountain in the southern Harz is 687.4 meters high and the view from here is great and makes up for the climb. If you still want to crack the 700-meter mark, you can climb the 20-meter-high observation tower, the Knollenturm, for a fee and improve the view a bit. There is a good place to stop for refreshments right on the summit.
