The Werratal cycle path leads directly through an original bridge pier (small tunnel).
Until 1949, there was an imposing railway-stone arch bridge, but was blown up by the Germans themselves to prevent the Allies on the rise.
The current 110 meter long bridge was rebuilt in the same year, this time mostly as a steel construction - the decommissioning took place in 1994. A year later, the bridge then had to be completely blocked because of dilapidated. Already 3 years before, the bridge was listed as a historical monument. Still an impressive, highly visible building!
In the immediate vicinity reminds an old railway wagon to the former railway line (the wagon belongs to a catering business and can be rented for events).

Hann. Münden is a beautiful city with a lot of half-timbered houses. By strolling and you feel transported to another time ..... it is worth who is on "old stones" and small streets and alleys - one more beautiful than the other.
