The church of Santa Maria della Provvidenza dates back to the 11th century and was the first in Ronciglione with the name of Sant’Andrea.
The building has a single nave with a trussed roof.
The interior is decorated with various frescoes including a crucifixion in the apse and a blessing Christ with cherubs and angels from the 15th century.
In 1722 a boulder from the cliff on which it was built broke off and in 1742 the church was restored in Baroque style with an external portico and took the name of Santa Maria della Provvidenza.
