On the traces of the lion you can go in the district of Göppingen: The lion paths stand for hiking with high quality standards and attract with impressive views, varied natural landscapes and mysterious places. Fifteen circular hiking trails, between 3 and 17 kilometers long, offer hiking fun for almost every taste.The approximately 14-kilometer tour in Wiesensteig starts on the outskirts of the town at the parking lot Papiermühle and leads you to the beginning of the Autal with its beautiful hollow paths up to the Alb plateau. A little later, you will reach the mystical backdrop of the ruins of Reußenstein Castle. She stands boldly on the towering rock reef on the northern edge of the Swabian Alb. It is one of their most beautiful castle ruins with a magnificent view of the Neidlinger valley. Fabulous views offer you on your way forward on the edge of the Albtraufs.Continue through the protected forest and on natural paths towards Schertelshöhle. Starting from the Löwenpfad, the path to this show cave - by the way, one of the most interesting and most stalactite in the Swabian Alb - is shown separately. The further way leads back to the Hasental and to one of the highlights of the circular trail: the Filsursprung. Once there, next to a refuge and two barbecue areas, you will find an impressive backdrop of meadows, forests and young Fils.
