Monument to the victims of the peasant strike in 1937, in which 15 people died. The difficult situation in the countryside in the pre-war period meant that members of the People's Party, led by their leader Wincenty Witos, were harassed and imprisoned for defending their rights. This forced Witos to leave Poland. This did not discourage the peasants of Majdan, who remained in constant contact with their leader and who, after he and the Congress of the People's Party decided to introduce the Peasant Strike (16-25 August 1937), introduced it in their area. On its last day, when the numerous peasants gathered were preparing to submit a petition to the state authorities, a tragedy occurred. The Blue Police used weapons against them. 15 people died on the spot, including a several-year-old child. To commemorate this event, on the 50th anniversary, in August 1987, at the site of the tragedy, by the road in the center of the village, a monument was erected depicting a man with his hands raised, protecting a mother with a dying child.
