The foundation stone of today's massive baroque church in the form of a wooden church typical of the Harz Mountains was laid in 1649. Due to lack of funds, it was not completed and consecrated until ten years later. The church tower was built in 1672. He wears a Welsche bonnet, in which a bell-shaped curved bonnet, a lantern-like intermediate piece and an onion-shaped bonnet are arranged one above the other. A year later, the roof was covered with roof tiles. A second gallery was added in 1741, causing the outer walls to curve outwards. Since 2009, five tie rods have been stabilizing the building, which is a listed building.
