The station was opened in 1875, when the Lower Silesian-Marchian Railway line (Berlin–Żagań–Wrocław) was routed through this area.
It was equipped with two main tracks (one of which was dismantled after 1945), a side track with a loading ramp, shape semaphores and two signal boxes: one at the station, the other — about 1 km away
