Unfortunately there is no information board, whether the tower was needed for fire protection is questionable, my guess is that it was for border security as you had a good view of the hinterland and it took a while to level the hilltop.

At the end of July, the path up is garnished with nettles. The tower is in poor condition. Not a viewing tower for excursionists. Climbing up without safety equipment is not clever here.
