It is 16 meters high, with an average circumference of 60 meters: it rests among the houses of Contrà Molini, and its narrow base makes it seem in perpetual balance. It is said that on May 22, 1905, due to abundant and prolonged rains, it slowly rotated about thirty degrees, destroying a porch and closing a road: it was the last and only documented time the Sasso moved, settling definitively.
