Gravel riding
At just over 700m above sea level, Pico da Cruz is an elevation on the crest of the Sete Cidades caldera. It is possibly one of the most fascinating viewpoints in the entire Azorean archipelago. You can see the caldera, the Blue Lagoon and the ocean simultaneously.

Gravel riding
Due to the climb, probably the best spot without too many "tourists". The climb with the gravel/MTB is interesting and demanding, but the view compensates for all the hardships. The descent towards North-North-East is awesome, after rainfall (so always) watch out for washed-out sections. Pico da Cruz and the descent were the biggest highlight of my week in the Azores... The island lies at your feet
