On the way to the village of Goritsy, "erected" on a high hill, rises the Transfiguration Church. The temple was built in the classical style, which is not surprising: the church was founded in 1838, but consecrated only twenty years later, that is, the classicism turned out to be somewhat belated. The "Russian-Byzantine" style was already coming into fashion. The pillar-shaped octagonal bell tower, as usual, was erected later, in 1865; 10 years later, the refectory was expanded - by that time the parish had more than a thousand parishioners, and the lack of space began to be acutely felt, especially with regard to festive services.
In architectural terms, it is a quadrangle, crowned with a domed rotunda, with a refectory and a three-tiered bell tower. The stone church was not built on an empty site, of course - all the villages in the vicinity of Vladimir are distinguished by their considerable antiquity, and Goritsy is no exception. At the very least, they already existed in the 15th century; in 1515, the village was mentioned in the charter of Grand Duke Vasily III.
