Antelope Canyon, Page, United States 🇺🇸

Antelope Canyon is a mesmerizing slot canyon located on Navajo Nation land east of Page, Arizona. It's renowned for its stunning wave-like rock formations and the ethereal light beams that pierce through its narrow openings, especially during certain times of the day.

The canyon's unique appearance is the result of millions of years of water erosion, creating a truly otherworldly landscape that draws photographers and nature enthusiasts from across the globe.

There are two main sections of Antelope Canyon: Upper Antelope Canyon (Tsé bighánílíní, "the place where water runs through rocks") and Lower Antelope Canyon (Hazdistazí, "spiral rock arches").

Upper Antelope is more famous for its dramatic light shafts, while Lower Antelope offers a more adventurous experience with ladders and tighter passages. Both sections require a guided tour with a permitted Navajo guide, as the canyon is sacred land and flash floods can occur.

Visiting Antelope Canyon is an unforgettable experience, but planning is key. Tours often book out far in advance, especially during peak seasons and for the midday tours when the light beams are most prominent.

Be sure to check the weather forecast, as tours can be canceled due to rain, even if it's not raining directly over the canyon, due to the risk of flash floods. Bringing a camera with a wide-angle lens is highly recommended to capture the full grandeur of this natural wonder.
