In the core late gothic, classicist facade with pilaster structure and triangular gable. In the courtyard north-side three-storey columned arcades, created around 1530. In 1596 Archduke Ferdinand acquired the town house and established here for a temporary stay his princely castle. 1609 left the archduke the building of the city, which wanted to use it as a town hall. But elaborate conversions lasted until 1629 and only on 26 October of the year, the first meeting could be held. In 1792, after the big city fire, there was not much left of the town hall. It was rebuilt in 1795/98. In 1998, the town hall was rebuilt by architect Meinhard Neugebauer, demolished the nearby Hotel Bayer and built at this point a new building, which adjoins the old town hall. The old Rathaushof was provided with a glass roof.
