From Bellecombe, a dirt road starts and ends at Alpe Mont-Ros. The climb is very steep, with gradients that in some sections exceed 20%, making the ride very demanding, especially without the help of an e-bike. The road surface, although hard, has loose sections, but it is still rideable uphill with an e-bike; with a muscle bike, however, it can only be tackled by very trained and expert mountain bikers.
On the downhill, however, there are no particular difficulties, as long as the bike's braking system is in perfect condition. Once you reach Alpe Mont-Ros, a wide and suggestive panorama opens up that amply repays the effort made to get there.
