The White cliffs of Dover are one of the most famous English landmarks, and can be viewed by everyone reaching Britain's mainland via the English Channel. The visitor centre (open daily from 11am to 4pm, closed on holidays) offers free maps, and a gift and coffee shop.

A landscape that is definitely worth seeing, from the information center, the ideal start or end point for hikes, there are easy to walk paths along the chalk cliffs. There are routes of different lengths, a descent to the beach, tunnels and many vantage points with a great view of the sea and the chalk cliffs.

There is a lovely circular walk here along the cliffs from St Margarets at Cliffe to Dover and back again along a parallel path. On the way beautiful views of the chalk cliffs, the English Channel with its lively shipping traffic and the port of Dover.
