Willow Creek Natural Area

The Pierce Lake and Willow Creek Loop offers a delightful escape into nature, winding through dense woods and along the picturesque shoreline of Pierce Lake. You'll experience a mix of terrain, from flat, shaded paths to some sandy sections, with the Willow Creek portion featuring paved asphalt and gentle hills. This moderate 7.3-mile (11.7 km) hiking route, with a gentle 309 feet (94 metres) of elevation gain, typically takes around 3 hours and 4 minutes to complete. It's best enjoyed in spring, summer, or fall, as about half of the trail around Pierce Lake is groomed for cross-country skiing in winter and closed to hikers. The trail is dog-friendly and suitable for various fitness levels, including beginners and families.
