    Former brickyard

On the right side of the path from Grünow to Vogelheidi shortly before the end of the village is the so-called Rabenhof. Behind the Rabenhof was a brickyard. The brickyard was built in the years 1823-1825. The architect Friedrich Wilhelm Buttel (* 1796 † 1869), a pupil of the Berlin architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel, developed for the Grünower brickyard a Flammofenanlage with two chambers. The bricks burned here were certainly used in the redesign of the Grünower church in 1863, as the church was rebuilt under the guidance and plans of architect Buttel. Bricks, roof tiles and drainage pipes were made. The Grünower bricks were mainly installed in Grünow and surroundings. It can be assumed that these were claystones, since clay was sufficiently present in the surrounding area and was also mined. The brickyard has shaped the village with its many brick houses, of which unfortunately only a few are preserved.

Today, the only occupied stork nest in Grünow is on this site. For many years, a pair of storks has raised their young.
