Moncove Lake State Park is a beautiful 250-acre area nestled beside a 500-acre wildlife management zone. The park's centerpiece is Moncove Lake, a 144-acre reservoir that is perfect for fishing and boating. Here, you can rent rowboats, kayaks, and paddleboats, or take a dip in the pool, open seasonally from Memorial Day to Labor Day. With over 160 bird species recorded, the park is an exceptional spot for birdwatching, especially in the fall during the hawk eastern migration, as the flyway is directly over the lake. There are five scenic hiking trails, camping options with 48 tent and trailer sites, and picnic areas complete with shelters.
