Best avoided in summer spells now. Even on a bike the journey down the east side of the lake can be a traffic nightmare on Saturdays and sundays. If you’re on a gravel or mtb head up into the forest instead and follow the high fire roads along above the lake.

Cold at this time of year, no sunlight and lake chill.
The road is also turning into a gravel track.
Take care of riding your £££££ road bike. X, gravel and mountain can handle it no problem.

Very busy in the warmer months.
Car parking is an issue so expect the roads to be littered with cars parked on the verges.
