I used this route to descend into Ditchling while bikepacking the SDW – big mistake.

This trail is all but impassable. Between the overgrown undergrowth and considerable ditches created by water running down I had to walk the whole thing – carefully.

It looks like improvement work is planned but at the moment AVOID THIS PATH – there’s a much better alternative ~200m to the east, which runs essentially parallel.

I’ve added a couple of photos, one which shows the warning sign I missed on the way down and one which shows part of the route (not the worst of it by far and I like technical descents normally).
