Ibn Abu-l-Qasim Ahmad Al-Husayn ibn Qasi was the governor of the Taifa of Mertola. He was a Sufi and a leading politician. He was born in Silves. Ibn Qasi was assassinated in Silves in 1151. The statue stands below the Torre de Menagem.
