Founded: 1851 as a "Höhere Bürgerschule" (Higher Citizens' School), later renamed "Lornsenschule" (Lornsen School).
Named after: Theodor Storm, who lived in Schleswig as a district judge from 1867 to 1880 and had close ties to the region.
Type of school: State grammar school with language and science programs.
