The routes around Wotersen are a tad.

The estate, also known as Wotersen Castle, was owned by the noble Bernstorff family for almost three centuries, who played a key role in shaping Hanoverian and Danish politics in the 18th century.

In 1408 it was mentioned in a document in 1717 together with the surrounding courtyards by Andreas Gottlieb Baron von Bernstorff (1649–1726), who came from the Mecklenburg Knighthood.

He was one of the most influential politicians at the Celle and Hanoverian courts and under King George I also politically active in England. Georg I - born as Duke Georg Ludwig of Braunschweig-Lüneburg - (May 28th / June 7th 1660 greg. In the Leineschloss, Hanover) was one of the Welfen.

The estate remained in the Bernstorff family's ownership until 1996, when it was sold privately. The manor house is a three-wing complex with a courtyard. In the middle of the facility there is a pool of water that was used as a drinking trough or a flood.

The estate is still used today to cultivate the surrounding lands. The manor house is not accessible today, but there are regular events on the court grounds and the halls, for example concerts in the Reithalle as part of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, or regional trade fairs.
