There is a monastery over there. The road when i rode that part was gravel. But when you get to the descent you have an amazing view.

as of September 2026 the road from the bay to the monastery is still gravel, from monastery there is a good asphalt. Gravel section is quite difficult as the surface is not compacted. The road is steep (15%) so the gravel is loose and destroyed. Asphalt section is also steep but the surface is very good.
I'm not sure if this is the best shortcut to the official EV route, quite demanding (climb to 560m asl). There is also a flat gravel road along the lake, (see the heatmap) but I haven't ridden it so cannot comment.
