Dobrinishte (Bulgarian: Добринище) is a Bulgarian winter sports resort and spa town in the Blagoevgrad Province in the Pirin Mountains. Dobrinishte is located a good 5 km east of the larger and more well-known Bansko, to which it belongs.
The town, with a population of 2,723 (as of the end of 2016), lies at an altitude of 850 m. The municipality covers an area of 80 km².
The town, which was already inhabited in the Neolithic period and had large minorities of Muslims, Pomaks, and Roma during the Ottoman period, has 17 mineral water springs with temperatures between 30 and 43 °C. The spring water is used to treat various ailments.
The total length of the ski slopes is seven kilometers. The ski area, with four different downhill runs of medium difficulty between an altitude of 2,500 m (top station) and 1,550 m (bottom station), is accessible via a double chairlift.[1]
Dobrinishte is the terminus of the narrow-gauge Rhodope Railway, which crosses not only the Rhodope Mountains but also the Rila Mountains.
