It has a 3'6" wooden pedestrian walkway, and traffic signals at each end manage the flow of vehicles due to the bridge's narrowness. The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission has recently announced plans to replace the bridge to address safety and operational issues. The new design will feature wider lanes, shoulders, and a pedestrian path, aiming to improve traffic flow and safety while still respecting the area's historical significance.
