On the hills of the Valle del Fiume Rosa, in the territory of San Sosti, there are the remains of the ancient fortified settlement of Artemisia, dating back to the Lombard-Byzantine era (7th–13th century). The area, known as the Casalini Archaeological Park, preserves traces of cisterns, dwellings, turrets and a small church with an apse. It can be reached via a well-marked hiking trail (601B), which starts from the car park of the Santuario della Madonna del Pettoruto and winds for about an hour's walk
