Restaurant Altes Bild, Alte Eggerstandenstrasse, Eggerstanden
The picture in Eggerstanden is mentioned in the Appenzell historical records as early as the beginning of the 16th century. At that time, it stood on the east side of Eggerstanden. A reference to the picture dates back to 1780, and it is documented on the west side of the village. Embroidery machines were in operation in what is now the hall until around 1890. In 1898, an oven was installed in the building, and the property was renamed the Altes Bild Restaurant and Bakery. In 1950, the then owners decided to close the bakery. In addition to the restaurant business, farming has also been practiced. Since 1969, a milk collection point has also been attached to the Altes Bild.
