Bab Agnāou (Arabic: باب اكناو), is one of the nineteen gates of the medina (old city) of Marrakesh, Morocco. It was built in the 12th century by the Almohad dynasty.

While Bab al-Rubʿ was the official entrance to the city, Bab Agnaou gives access to the qasbah, the royal citadel, in the southern part of the medina of Marrakesh. The qasbah, built by the Almohad caliph Abu Yusuf Yaqub al-Mansur, is the site of the al-Mansuriya Mosque, the El Badi Palace (the palace of the Saadian dynasty), and the Saadian Tombs.

    Etymology:
The most common theory is that the name Agnāw, like Gnawa, derives from the Berber word for black people. This could have meant the gate that looked south toward sub-Saharan Africa. Other sources dispute this and translate the term Agnāw with a Berber word meaning the mute, hornless ram.

The gate is also called Bab al-Kohl (the gate of the blacks), and, in some historical sources, Bab el-Qsar (Bāb al-Qasr, the gate of the palace)
