The book Winnetou Lives! by Richard Thalheim, featuring photographs of the 1939 season's performances, was published by Karl May Verlag in 1939/1940. It contains two introductory forewords by E.A. Schmid and Georg Görner and a cast list, and is a (slightly) reduced retelling of the story. The authors of the play were not named here.
