The Saaringener village church is a listed small Saalkirche.
The first known mention of a church in Saaringen dates back to 1391. It was a branch church of the village church Klein Kreutz. In 1786 there was a fire that destroyed the church. As a result, a new church was built from 1787 to 1790 in the style of the Baroque.
At the end of the 20th century, a development association was founded, which is dedicated to the rehabilitation of the now very dilapidated church. One of the members of the association is the resident Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. In the following years, an extensive renovation took place. At first, the church became the property of the Förderverein. Funding came, among others, from the German Foundation for Monument Protection.
The Saaringer village church is a small plaster construction. The plaster is painted in a yellow shade. The portal in the west is accessible via a small staircase. It is designed segment-curved. The single-leaf wooden door is star-shaped. The church tower is designed in half-timbered, which is plastered only to the west. The sound openings of the belfry are also segmental, as are all stained glass windows. The steeple roof is a tent roof covered with beaver tails. The top is equipped with a tower ball, a weather vane and a six-pointed star.
