Built around 1300 as a fortified church, this fieldstone church is one of the oldest in the Müritz region. The church, built predominantly of fieldstone, received a sacristy and a northern porch about 100 years later. In 1984, a valuable 15th-century mural was discovered and restored between 2012 and 2014. The wooden carved altar, dating from around 1500, depicts a crescent-shaped Madonna, angels, and eight saints. The half-timbered tower was added in the 18th century.

The church is usually open, which isn't always the case. It's a small village church, with a simple interior and partially exposed wall paintings.

The village church in Vipperow is one of the oldest churches in the Müritz region and dates back to around 1300. Originally built as a fortified church from fieldstone, it impresses with its ornate brick gable on the east side. A sacristy and vestibule were added in the 15th century, and the wooden half-timbered tower was added in the 18th century.

Inside, a richly decorated carved altar from around 1500 draws the eye, depicting a crescent-moon Madonna and numerous figures of saints. Medieval wall paintings – including a fragment of the Last Judgment – were uncovered and carefully restored, giving the church a special atmosphere. The organ dates from the 19th century and was recently extensively overhauled.

Today, the church not only serves as a worship service but also hosts concerts and cultural events. It offers a worthwhile stop for cyclists and those interested in culture – quietly located, historically significant, and full of ornate details.
