This ascent from the west side off Highway 3 to the Pacific Crest Trail Trailhead covers approximately 11.8 to 13.6 miles seeing you gain around 3,600 to 3,700 feet at an average gradient of 5-5.9%, winding through the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. The scenery is beautiful, with forests and mountain views unfolding as you climb towards the PCT Trailhead at around 6,800 feet elevation.
