The church is located on the territory of the former estate of Colonel Vladimir Semenovich Khrapovitsky of the Life Guards of His Majesty's Hussar Regiment in the village of Muromtsevo, not far from Sudogda in the Vladimir province. In July 1889, Vladimir Khrapovitsky asked the Archbishop of Vladimir Feognost for permission to build an Orthodox church on the estate. In May 1890, the site for the church was consecrated, and its construction was not started until 1895. The author of the church building project was also Moscow architect Pyotr Samoilovich Boytsov (the author of most of the buildings in the Muromtsevo estate). The church was built over the course of 4 years at the expense of Count Khrapovitsky and was consecrated in 1899 on the day of remembrance of the Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir (July 15, old style). Simultaneously with the construction and improvement of the Muromtsev Church, the St. George Cathedral in Gus-Khrustalny was decorated by order of Nechaev-Maltsev. Hence, there is much in common in the architecture and icon painting of these two churches. All the church utensils were made by the Faberge factory. The painting and icons of the Muromtsev Church were made by masters of the V. M. Vasnetsov school. There were 9 bells on the single-tier bell tower, the largest weighing 121 poods.
