A rocky and sometimes slippery trail segment drops from the crest below Discovery Pinnacle down to Trail Lake. For the most tricky sections there is a guard rail. It is particularly slippery early in the season when there are still remainders of snow and ice dripping onto the rocks, or after rains. Water can freeze at night into early summer at this elevation.
