Here is a monument that stands out for its unusual and persistent architecture: Trancoso Castle. Despite the architectural reforms that took place in the 12th and 13th centuries, the most interesting aspect of this castle is its keep. Its truncated cone-shaped profile, 12 metres high, and a door on the first floor with an interesting archway indicate that it was built in the mid-10th century.
