The Regenbogensee is a lake created in the last glacial period, with no inlet or outflow. It is located in the Wandlitz Lake District in the depression of a promontory that has been pushed forward into the Liepnitzsee. The silent forest lake belongs to the nature park Barnim founded in 1999 and administratively since the end of 1998 to the district of Lichten.
