Climbing onto the enormous bench to sit beside this steel giant is lots of fun. 'Freddie Gilroy and the Belsen Stragglers' is a giant structure by Ray Lonsdale. The sculpture is based on a retired miner Ray became friends with who was also one of the first soldiers to relieve the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp at the end of World War II.
