The Heidhofsee is about 4.8 hectares and an important recreational center in Bottrop. There are circular hiking trails, play areas and lawns as well as the Heidhof center. Bathing is not allowed, but you can cool your feet.

The Heidhofsee is a lake in Bottroper district Kirchhellen and with 4.8 hectares, the second largest in the city. It was created by the degradation of quartz sands. Since 1973, the Heidhofsee together with the Heidesee a recreational area. The lake offers on its southern shore meadows for tourist use. Parts of the lake are protected biotopes. Heidhofsee and Heidesee are used for fishing.
