The Florida Trail spans 45 miles across this military base, and access to these sections requires hikers to check the Public Access Map (PAM) daily for potential closures due to military activities. Thru-hikers whose journey originates more than 50 miles outside the base boundary must contact the Jackson Guard for their free permits to cross this area.
