Always a worthy milestone. In good weather you have a wonderful view over the surrounding countryside, as for example the dams Sosa and Eibenstock.

From the observation tower on the Auersberg you have a wide panoramic view over the western Erzgebirge (if the weather is right ...). In the mountain inn you can warm up again, if - as with me - the weather does not quite fit ;-) Then you can enjoy in different ways the already described by others rapid descent!

Best Trail in the Westerzgebirge at the transition to the Vogtland. Behind the hut down the blocked trail and then at high speed many miles downhill on various routes. Professionals take the path on the right side of the Sosa dam (S4) down to the Höllengrund. Those who like it faster and less demanding can keep to the left of the dam. There leads also a trail with alleged S4 in the hell ground, but I would classify it rather as S2, steep and rocky, but for everyone mobile.

Grandiose view, beautiful runs and from the middle of 2018 certainly again with working gastronomy.

If you have reached the top, you can look down. 😜 From here the Blaueshal Waterfall leads the time trial for MTB / Jogger the "Auersbergkönig". With stamp areas and perfectly signposted nozzle round makes real whim. 🚵🏻♂️

The checkpoint is easy to find and is located on the summit plateau in a westerly direction.

Checkpoint Auersberg can not be missed, right next to the lookout tower. If you have time, you should enjoy the view of the dam
