This grueling climb takes you up Little Cottonwood Canyon, just south of Salt Lake City, into the rugged Wasatch Mountains. The road starts with a steep ascent through tight turns and increasingly dramatic canyon walls before reaching the Alta Ski Resort, where the pavement turns to dirt. As you descend, the curves are fast and flowing, making it one of the quickest downhill rides in the area—though be cautious, as avalanches make this route one of the most dangerous in the U.S.
