At this point on the Florida Trail, there is a junction for a pretty dramatic alternate route. You can go on the west or east side of the city of Orlando.
The east side has more resupply, hotels, restaurants, and transportation options. More of the trails are paved, but it also comes with more road walking and urban noise. The east side clocks in at just about 200 miles
The west side provides a wilder, quieter experience through natural areas like Wekiwa Springs State Park and Rock Springs Run State Reserve, with more of a backcountry feel. It requires more planning for resupply, has fewer amenities along the way, and totals a little longer at 240 miles.
