The parking lot is marked on regular maps like Apple Maps 🅿️ and you can navigate directly, but about 6km before that, there's a café at a square with a gate. You pay there (60 ZAR per person in 2025) and they let you in with your car. Read the signs along the way; I drove exactly as the sat nav suggested and had to turn around in the middle of nowhere. If in doubt, follow the others. You'll eventually get stuck in a Ferrari, but these small rental cars can handle it and squeak a bit afterwards. It's certainly an adventure.
From the parking lot, Komoot takes over, or you can follow your own directions; there are signs and, above all, paths here too. Sturdy shoes are recommended; I've even seen people in flip-flops and Birkenstocks 🤷🏼‍♂️. Alternatively, you can make your way through the riverbed/water.
