Numerous hiking trails lead across the Dreiborn Plateau. The area is characterized by extensive forests and open spaces. The plateau is part of the German-Belgian High Fens-Eifel Nature Park. The 2,760 square kilometer park was established in 1960. It extends across North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, and East Belgium. In the Belgian High Fens, a wild raised bog stretches, rivers and streams babble, and there are 15 lakes and dams. In the Kalkeifel, nature glows in all colors, while in the High Eifel, vast, forested mountain heights characterize the landscape. The foothills of the Volcanic Eifel also offer spectacular views.
