    The church is of course an eye-catcher and worth a visit. But if there had not been a storm swept across the graveyard next door in 1911, a tree in the church would steal the show today. Here was the famous Birnbaun above the tomb of the Ribbeck family, made famous by the poem by Theodor Fontane about the Lord "von Ribbeck on Ribbeck im Havelland" and his pear tree. The storm dragged him away - a piece of the trunk is kept in the church. His successor from the 1970s was cut because he brought too little income. Maybe the latest pear tree, which was planted in April 2000, will succeed in bringing the original to the water.
